- Zagat New York City Shopping survey - 2009/2010
"My favorite" fawn fans of this "upscale thrift shop in Gramercy Park", which "always surprises" with its "amusing", "artistic display windows" and "beautiful" "handpicked selection" of furniture, clothes, jewelry, handbags, etc. (you might even "pick up a bargain" bit of Baccarat); everyone "loooves the staff"- "so helpful and knowledgeable"- but "the best part is that all proceeds benefit the United Jewish Council of the East Side."

- Time Out New York - 3/09
- Jewish Week - 08/09
"...eclectic windows, hip vibe, great location and its forever-changing stock of bargain-priced ephemera you can't find anywhere else."
- New York Times - 11/06
- New York Magazine - 09/07
"Go here for a steady supply of mid-century and contemporary furniture that usually requires at least a little rehabbing, and a large selection of clothing neatly hung (no digging necessary)."
- Yelp online user reviews:
"Bravo for being one of the most down-to-earth shopping experiences in Manhattan."
- Guerillashopper - 08/09
"The last time I was there, someone sauntered off with a pair of Prada shoes with soles that had never touched the ground."
- Apista Magazine Japan- 02/07
The Japanese love us—we think.
- New York Social Diary - 2007
"...check out the furniture and tschotskes. The furniture generally falls into two niches: Custom-made for a wealthy Long Island abode or hipster mid-century. Knick-knack-wise, there are a lot of crystal and silver serving pieces, Israeli souvenirs and ancient household treasures (how about a complete orange carnival glass punch bowl and cup set from the Forties for $40?)."
- "Treasure Chest" special event - 2005
Vintage Thrift received an incredibly generous single donation of more than 1,500 pieces of collectible 1960's/70's costume jewelry, which was showcased in a shopping event called "Treasure Chest." Actress Chloë Sevigny kindly lent her support by posing for press materials.
